Heights Rotary Club donates Christmas food baskets
to 100 families
WHAT:
As part of their annual Christmas Basket
Outreach, the Heights Rotary Club will deliver Christmas food baskets
to 100 families who are clients of Family Services of Greater Houston.
Heights Rotary Club members will separate the groceries into baskets
at the old firehouse on Yale and West 12th Street on December 16th
and then will deliver the baskets to families on December 18th.
WHO:
This year, the Heights Rotary
Club collaborated with the Houston Heights Association to provide
food baskets to families in the 77008 and 77009 zip codes.

WHY:
The Heights Christmas Basket Outreach is
a projec that supports needy families in the Heights area. Many families
do not have basic necessities, especially around the holidays. The
food baskets will include over 50 nonperishable groceries, such as
canned fruit and vegetables, cereal, rice, bread, pasta, cookies and
much more.
WHAT ELSE:
For the past 98 years, Family Services
has provided a variety of health and human services to meet the changing
needed of families in the Houston community. In 2001, Family Services
provided over 90,000 direct service hours to individuals and families
seeking counseling, education and support services.
