The Machs honored as 2003 Family of the Year

Cora Sue and Harry Mach know what it takes to make a great family. The Machs have been married for 39 years, have two sons, Steve and Butch Mach, and two grandchildren. Family Services will honor them as "Family of the Year" at the 9th annual Celebration of Families Luncheon on March 6, 2003 at River Oaks Country Club. The luncheon is the organization's main fundraiser of the year. Leslie Bennett is Luncheon Chair and Sidney and Don Faust are Honorary Chairs.

"The Machs have been so generous in their support of Family Services and have worked hards to have a strong family and give back to the community," said Nyla K. Woods, Family Services President and CEO.

The Mach family also supports the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts, Houston Grand Opera, Houston Symphony Orchestra, Incarnate Word Academy, St. Thomas High School, Trinity University and many others. Harry is Vice President of BRASS (Baylor Research Advocates for Student Scientists) and Cora Sue is President of the Houston-Gulf Coast-South Texas Chapter of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation.

"We are very grateful to the Houston community for all of the blessings we have received," Cora Sue and Harry said. "Volunteerism is the avenue we have chosen to give back to the community."

Harry is the President and Chief Executive Officer and Cora Sue is the Vice President of Mach Inudstrial Group. Their sons will continue the tradition of the family business. Butch is Vice President of Production, Steve is Vice President of Finance and Butch's wife Carmen is Purchasing Manager.
