WHO WE ARE
Family Services of Greater Houston (Family Services), a United Way agency, is one of Houston’s oldest nonprofit 501 (c)(3) social service organizations.
WHO WE SERVE
Family Services mainly serves low-income children, families and adults. Our clients are of all ages and ethnicities (60% Hispanic, 24% African American, 14% Caucasian and 2% Asian and other).

- 2007 Silver ADDY Award for design of agency’s 2006 Annual Report
- 2006 Award of Excellence for Best Practices from the Mental Health Corporations of America (also received in 2005, 1996, 1998, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004)
- 2004 Award for Excellence from the Better Business Bureau
- 2001 Governor’s Criminal Justice Award for Best Family Program in Texas for Family Services’ Reintegration Program
- Family Services’ substance abuse prevention and education program received the: 2005 Leadership in Action Award from Leadership Houston; 2001 Prevention Program Award from the Mental Health Association of Greater Houston; 2000 La Promesa Program by the National Children’s Latino Institute; and 1999 Exemplary Substance Abuse Prevention Program by the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention
